What to do first after you download Snikkr
Before you even think about adding friends to your Snikkr network, it is fun to try out the “non-social” features of Snikkr. For example, go to a contact, or find an upcoming calendar event that has an location. You can use the Snikkr menu items injected into those applications to get directions to your contact, or see where an event is on the map.
From the same injected menus, you can also send your current location to your contacts, and meeting attendees in an email. Good if you are running late!
Or, from within Snikkr, you can use Local Search to find you favorite restaurants, clubs and libraries, or maybe your work location, and then select it in the search results, and make it a favorite place.
Note also that when you select a search result, the menu gives you the option to call the business, or visit their web site, all with a single click.
Initial Alpha of Snikkr will be for BlackBerry OS 4.5 and above
The initial alpha version of Snikkr Mobile supports BlackBerry OS 4.5.x, 4.6.x, and 4.7.x. It has been tested on the AT&T and Verizon networks.
Supported devices are the Pearl, Curve, Bold and Storm. Pearl and Curve users should make sure their OS version is at least 4.5. (Early version of Pearl and Curve shipped with 4.2, which would need to be upgraded).
